We keep what an order needs, and nothing else.

What we collect

We collect only what an order needs. The list is short enough to print in full.

• Your e-mail address, so we can send the private link to your report and answer questions about your order.
• The domain names you submit and, for the Domain Decision Report, the brief you write about your business.
• The fact that you ticked the consent box on the order form, and when.
• Your order reference, its status, and the report we produced for it.

Payment details

Checkout is handled by our payment provider, Stripe. Your card number goes to Stripe, not to us. We receive a confirmation that the payment succeeded, the amount, and a reference we use to match the payment to your order. Stripe's own privacy policy governs what it holds.

How we use it

We do not sell or rent your details, and we do not use your brief or your candidate names for advertising, for training models, or for anyone else's research.

• To produce your report. The candidate names and your brief are the input to the research; nothing else is.
• To deliver it, by e-mailing you a private link.
• To keep a record of the order for accounting and for handling any refund.
• To answer you when you write to us.

Site measurement

The site keeps a count of page views and of clicks on a handful of buttons, so we know which pages are read. The counter is ours and runs on our own server. It records the page and the button, and nothing about you: no IP address, no browser fingerprint, no referrer, no query string, and no cookie. There is no third-party analytics script on this site.

Who else sees it

Each of these handles data on our behalf and under its own security commitments. We would disclose your details beyond this list only if the law required it.

• Stripe, to take payment.
• Our e-mail provider, to deliver the report link and our replies.
• The hosting provider that runs the site and stores order records.
• Public data sources, which receive the domain names we look up but nothing that identifies you.

How long we keep it

Order records, including the amount paid and the report produced, are kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require us to keep them. If you would like the brief and the report deleted sooner, write to us; we delete them and keep only the payment record the rules require.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the address below from the e-mail you ordered with. We answer within thirty days, and usually much sooner.

Who is responsible

Kettle & Haven LLC, a Colorado limited liability company, operates NameBearing and is responsible for the data described here. If we change this policy, the date at the top will change with it.
